    it’s actually rumoured that when Engels and Marx were living in Manchester, writing in the libraries around Chetham’s and whatnot, Beardie and his mate – together with a young Tony Wilson then just starting out, cutting his chops on the entrepreneurial circuit – put on an all-dayer for the benefit of some Little Ireland residents at the city’s Ye Olde Boardwalke and Gin Palace venue.

    so I just found out what Continuum are going to do with their Athlone press goldmine:
    give them new covers, make them smaller, and slash the price to 7 or 8 or 9 quid
    including Libidinal Economy, AO and TP, Difference and Repetition, Logic of sense, Adorno, Heidegger, Derrida blah de blah, Bataille on Nietzsche
    it’ll be 12 books in September followed by 4 a month
